November 23, 2011 - Protech-Oxyplast: Qualicoat
approval for a low bake powder coating
OXYPLAST BELGIUM NV, the Belgian part of the Canadian Protech - Oxyplast Group, is the first powder coating producer to have succeeded in achieving the Qualicoat label (P-1030 PE40) for its low-curing and degassing powder coating, under the brand name Ag-Kote. Never before, a Qualicoat approval has been granted for this type of energy friendly technology that actually cures at150°C .
The Qualicoat approval is a significant next step in this success story.
This architectural quality label confirms that Ag-Kote can now be approved for the coating of aluminum profiles.
Protech - Oxyplast is convinced that the trend to continually use lower curing coatings is here to stay. Ag-Kote proves that this doesn’t have to be detrimental to the quality of these innovative and energy friendly powder coatings.

Enviro-Powder Company is a well recognized name within the powder coatings industry and has been providing a quality product and excellent service to its clients for many years. Protech fully expects to benefit from the excellent business relationships that Enviro-Powder has developed over the years with its customers. Protech will integrate the Enviro-Powder manufacturing operations into its own organization. Current customers of Enviro-Powder will continue to be able to obtain the products they are currently purchasing and as well, will now have access to Protech’s worldwide network of products and technology.

The Protech/Oxyplast Group of Montreal, Canada is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement to purchase the powder coatings business of Atomized Powder Coatings LLC of Terre Haute, Indiana. Protech will integrate the Atomized manufacturing operations into its own organization. Current customers of Atomized Powder Coating will continue to be able to obtain the products they are presently purchasing and as well, will now have access to Protech’s worldwide network of products and technology.
Protech is excited and proud to introduce three new specialty lines of powder coatings. X-Graf is a line of coatings that allows the easy clean-up of graffiti. Curvecoat permits coated pieces to be post -bended without cracking, splitting or chipping. And the Z-Series is Protech’s line of super-durable powder coatings. More information on these products may be obtained by simply clicking on the product icon.
Protech is pleased to unveil its new color chart. This fold out chart represents our stock items that are always available. The new color can be found on the website simply by clicking on the color chart button. Please note that you can also easily access the previous color chart on the website.
Protech has completed the expansion of its QC and R & D laboratories at its head office location in Montreal. These state-of-the-art labs have been furnished with the newest of equipment including apparatus for testing which previously had to be out sourced. The refurnished labs will allow Protechs technical team even more opportunity to develop new products and applications.
Protech is expected to move into its new facility in Fairfield, New Jersey by the beginning of September 2007. All necessary permits have been obtained and equipment will be moved in immediately.
Protech and Alcatel/Lucent have extended their existing supply agreement. Under terms of the agreement, Protech remains the exclusive suppler of powder coatings to Alcatel/Lucent and their suppliers and sub-contractors.
